Tatsuki Arisawa (有沢 竜貴, Arisawa Tatsuki) is a student at the Karakura High School, in the same classroom as Ichigo Kurosaki, her childhood friend and karate partner. When they were children, Tatsuki regularly saved Ichigo when he was getting beaten up, as well as cheering him up when he was upset. A tomboyish karate practitioner with dreams of becoming a vale tudo champion, and already ranking Japan's second strongest in her age group, Tatsuki seems to possess no stereotypically feminine qualities as is typical of female manga characters. Her only obvious feminine trait is how she writes her name: using hiragana: (たつき), though this is because she thinks it looks feminine while she considers the kanji of her name un-cute.

Personality

Personality-wise, Tatsuki is protective and level headed most times, unless someone has done something to her. She uses her great strength to beat up anyone that bugs her. Strangely, she has a lot of insight on Ichigo's personality.

Tatsuki is best friends with Orihime Inoue and is constantly protecting her from men looking for a date, as well as Chizuru Honshō, the school lesbian, who often approaches and grabs Orihime's breasts. Tatsuki has done this since middle school, when she beat up some bullies that were trying to cut Orihime's hair, and had already done so once before her brother died. After that, Tatsuki promised to protect her from anyone who dared to make her cry, and she and Orihime became best friends.

Like many of Ichigo's friends, Tatsuki is spiritually aware to the point that she can clearly see ghosts, hollows, shinigami, and other such supernatural phenomena, though she lacks any unique spiritual powers of her own. She is strong enough to survive spiritual attacks most humans are incapable of dealing with, though this may be due to her karate training. She also has the ability to sense Orihime from almost anywhere, even across dimensions; she is able to sense Orihime when she travels to Soul Society, but remarks that she can't sense her presence after Orihime is taken to Hueco Mundo.

She has shown a very estranged side of her though at some points, mainly showing it to Orihime when their disscussing her affections toward Ichigo. One part, that was cut from the anime, Tatsuki actually was disappointed in Orihime that she didn't take advantage of Ichigo when he thought she was hurt. She then went on to teach Orihime on how to take advantage of Ichigo.

Synopsis

Tatsuki as seen in a flashback

In the earlier parts of the series, Tatsuki mainly hangs out with Orihime, and also protects her from the hollow Numb Chandelier, but gets injured. When Orihime's powers awaken, Tatsuki in turn gets protected by Orihime. Soon after that, Tatsuki begins to see hollows clearly, but never mentions it to Orihime. Tatsuki made Orihime promise that she will come back alive before Orihime goes to Soul Society. Later on, during the first invasion of the Arrancar, Tatsuki nearly dies at the hand of Yammy, who uses his special technique called Gonzui to suck up human souls. A timely rescue by Orihime and Chad saves her. Tatsuki also witnesses the battles between Ichigo, Tōshirō Hitsugaya's team and the arrancar. When Orihime gets taken away to Hueco Mundo, Tatsuki is noticeably upset at her sudden disappearance, punching Ichigo's head through a window and shouting at him for not telling her what he knows. She is later accompanied by Keigo Asano and Mizuiro Kojima to Kisuke Urahara's Shop and sees Ichigo leaving for Hueco Mundo.

Power & Abilities

Tatsuki is considered the second strongest girl in Japan in her age group. She managed to place second in a tournament while she had a broken arm. She seems to have some spiritual power, but so far, she is only capable of seeing spirits (including Shinigami, Hollows, and Arrancar).

Spiritual Power: Her spiritual power is enough to resist from Yammy's Gonzui. In the Karakuriser filler arc it is revealed that her spiritual power manifests itself in flame like blasts which she can shoot out of her fists or incorporate it in her fighting style easily defeating an average hollow, however since this was shown in a filler arc it cannot be considered canon.

Hand-to-Hand Combatant: As a karate practitioner, she has a level of hand-to-hand skills, enough to defend herself from bad guys.

Supposedly in one of the video games, such as Bleach: Dark Souls, she's supposed to have a few superhuman abilities, such as Shunpo.

Mizuiro Kojima (小島 水色, Kojima Mizuiro) is a student in Karakura High School and is in the same class as Ichigo Kurosaki. Though he has a boyish face and gentle manner of speaking, Mizuiro has a marked fondness for older women. Ichigo once warned Rukia about his infatuation with older women, which confused Mizuiro as he doesn't know that Rukia is actually older than she looks. He is apparently very successful with these women and often excuses himself from Keigo's activities because of a date with one or more women, being more likely he's with more women. In an extra chapter in the twelfth volume of Bleach, it is revealed that Mizuiro had very few friends until junior high. He is very distant towards his mother, who is seldom home. Despite not being shown as such, he's recently been revealed to have been fully endowed with spiritual awareness like Tatsuki and Keigo, and together with them, he watched Ichigo, Chad, and Uryū go into Hueco Mundo.

Keigo Asano (浅野 啓吾, Asano Keigo) is a student at the Karakura High School, in the same classroom as Ichigo Kurosaki.

Character outline

Keigo is typically a goofy and an extremely hyper-active character, often using overly-dramatic movements and words to act out his feelings. In other respects, he is the stereotypical Japanese teenager: he enjoys watching fireworks, playing role-playing-games, going to beach parties, and so forth. Originally little more than a source of comic relief, Keigo becomes a more prominent character later in the series. The Asano family consists of Keigo's mother, father, his sister Mizuho, and Keigo himself. Like Tatsuki Arisawa, he is unusual in that he lives with both of his parents, unlike many other recurring characters in the series.

A good-natured teenager, Keigo is used mainly for comical effect, usually in situations involving failed attempts to woo girls and interacting with Ichigo. He is good friends with fellow student Mizuiro Kojima, whose calm, innocent demeanor, and success with women acts as a foil to Keigo's impulsive, wannabe personality. Strangely enough, a classmate of Ichigo's sisters, Midoriko, has a crush on him. Apparently, she likes how "he always has a little smile, even when he's alone." Keigo appears to be a shallow character at first glance, with a passion for slacking off. Indeed, he takes great pride in not making it to the honors roster (higher than the 50th ranking) and labels those who do so "traitors" (including Ichigo and Chad, who made the 23rd and 11th ranks respectively). However, Mizuiro states that Keigo is much smarter than his bad grades show..Keigo is also a quick learner; he successfully blocks Rangiku Matsumoto's kick after being attacked by her just once, but brags about it and leaves an opening leading to him getting kicked in the face.

Keigo, like many of Ichigo's friends, is spiritually aware as a result of constant contact with Ichigo. While he can see spirits and other such supernatural phenomenon, he has not manifested any unique abilities, much like Tatsuki. He only becomes aware of the fact after seeing Ikkaku Madarame in battle, having dismissed his previous sightings as shootings for a TV show.

Synopsis

Agent of the Shinigami Arc

Keigo acts as a recurring character throughout much of the early story, and he doesn't receive any significant attention during the individual stories that take place during it. He mainly serves as comic relief because of his personality and apparent stupidity.

Bount arc

In the anime's Bount arc, Keigo tries to make friends with a random Shinigami with an afro who is assigned to Karakura Town in Rukia Kuchiki's place, which he nicknames "Old Man Afro" (Afro-oji-san). The shinigami merely insists that Keigo ignore him, confused by the fact that so many people in the town are able to see him. Keigo is later attacked by the bitto, which sucked out much of his soul and leaves him in a near-death state, and rescued by Ichigo in his shinigami form. Keigo can see Ichigo clearly, which confuses Ichigo, but the Bount Gō Koga surmises that Keigo can only see Ichigo because most of his soul has left him. With the assistance of Izuru Kira, Ichigo brings Keigo to Kisuke Urahara and is saved by Hanatarō Yamada, who uses some of Ichigo's spiritual power to replenish Keigo's soul and wipes his memory after doing so.

Arrancar arc

Preceding the arrival of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and his group of Arrancar, Keigo spots a hollow flying around the immediate area.[4] He then bumps into Zennosuke Kurumadani, the random shinigami he talks with earlier in the anime whom he now calls (Af-san) for short, and witnesses Ikkaku Madarame's fight with Edrad Liones. Keigo later becomes an unwilling host to Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa after striking a deal to provide accommodation for them in exchange for his own safety. His sister Mizuho happily welcomes the new lodgers.

Hueco Mundo arc

Keigo, along with Tatsuki and Mizuiro, later watches as Ichigo, Chad, and Uryū Ishida depart to Hueco Mundo in an attempt to rescue Orihime Inoue.[5] They are then greeted by Kisuke Urahara, who says that while Ichigo leaves to do his part, it is time for them to do their own. In the anime, this leads to his joining the Karakura-Raizer team

Michiru Ogawa

Michiru Ogawa (小川みちる, Ogawa Michiru) is a classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue. She has short brown hairs. She's very shy, and is afraid of Ichigo and Uryū Ishida because they never smile, though she did bring Uryu one of her torn dolls so he could fix it during one moment. Like Orihime, Michiru is also a victim of Chizuru Honshō's advances. She is currently asleep with the rest of Karakura town in the Soul Society

Chizuru Honshō

Chizuru Honshō (本匠 千鶴, Honshō Chizuru) is a student at Karakura High School, in the same class as Ichigo Kurosaki. She is an open and proud lesbian, who seems happy almost all the time. In chapter 35 of the manga, her name is listed as the 31st student in academic achievements. She appears to be attracted to Orihime Inoue who she calls "Hime" meaning princess, or this could just be a shortening of her name. She hugs Orihime every chance she gets, and usually compliments her and fondles her chest. Chizuru also makes advances toward Michiru Ogawa. She is usually stopped by Tatsuki who always hits her to get her off Orihime, but if anyone else interferes or says anything negative about Orihime, she goes into a rage. She is seen often in the first arc, but rarely seen afterwards. Usually appears for comic relief, though she shows a somewhat more serious side during Orihime's fight with Numb Chandelier and during Tatsuki's fight with a female arrancar. In the anime's second filler arc when she meets Rurichiyo Kasumiōji her first question to her are her three measurements. When Ichigo is in Hueco Mundo, Chizuru joins the Karakura-Raizer Team and helps Tatsuki defeat an arrancar. She is currently asleep with the rest of Karakura Town in the Soul Society.

Ryō Kunieda

Ryō Kunieda (国枝 鈴, Kunieda Ryō) is one of Ichigo Kurosaki's classmates and a first year track & field star. As Kon learned the hard way, she can run 100 meters in 12 seconds.[1] Ryō also loves to read and is very bright. She envies Orihime Inoue and works hard in order to surpass her. Ryō ranks second in her grade on the school exams at Karakura High School, which is after Uryu Ishida who is 1st and before Orihime who is ranked 3rd. In volume 5, chapter 35 of the manga, Chizuru Honshō mentions that Ryo excels in both literal and martial arts that she was the representative for the freshman class, which is why she's never lectured by Karakura High's falculty. This was shown earlier in volume 2, chapter 15, as when a teacher saw the mess that Kon made in 1-3's class during his first appearence, while he refused to believe Michiru Ogawa, he believed Ryo and went to inform the falculty (Rukia erased all of the memories from everyone of that incident before any action could be taken). She is currently asleep with the rest of Karakura town in the Soul Society.

After a three month absence on Ichigo's part, she punished him with a simple tap on the head with her book, and told him to take a seat. He was angry too, because Rukia, Orihime, Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro and Yasutora Sado didn't stop Ichigo Kurosaki.
